Services Provided: For this project, we were contracted by a builder who specialized in building ‘post-style’ horse barns for a living. It was a skill passed down to him by his grandfather, and the business is still going strong. Unfortunately for him, it became necessary to start supplying certified structural drawings for the permit application process. So, our engineer sat down with the contractor and reviewed how he had been building these barns over the years. The builder knew his methods worked, but the engineer needed to be able to prove it for the required certification. Once that threshold had been crossed, it was very easy to mass produce these drawings for the barns with moderate alterations for the end user.
