RAD Data Exhibit
Services Provided: This exhibit design represented three of the most daunting tasks that I have ever experienced in trade show exhibit production. These two rippled central towers were tube framed fabric units that were not only rippled, but curved on the tops, and curved on the vertical edges as well. It became necessary for me to create a 3D model of this unit and provide the frame manufacturer with every arch length, radius, cut angle, and chord length of each ripple and compound radius in both towers. All of this was done with rather sketchy drawings from the designer. One of the other cool elements of this exhibit was the upper ring header. It is constructed using laser cut aluminum plate that was welded together in sections and then bolted into place. The final challenge was the workstation posts that supported the lower header ring. Each of them had a clip-in-place bracket with a product shelf. Each shelf had to be higher than the one before it and a little further back on the post as well. It was intended to imitate a spiral set of stairs. It was a difficult booth to construct and even more difficult to detail, but the look in the end was sensational.
